The verdict. Fibre is the boring answer to a question the whole GLP-1 conversation is circling. Around 95% of adults don't hit the recommended daily intake, and fibre is one of the few things that genuinely influences satiety, blood-sugar response, and gut health at once — without a prescription or a borrowed brand name.
Who this is for
- You're interested in appetite and metabolic support and want the version with actual evidence behind it.
- Your diet is light on vegetables, legumes, and whole grains, and you know it.
- You're on a GLP-1 and eating very little — getting fibre in becomes genuinely hard at low food volumes.
Who should skip it
If you already eat 30g of fibre a day from food, you don't need this — food beats powder, and it's cheaper. If you have IBS, IBD, or another gut condition, some fibre types make symptoms worse; check which type this is before buying. And if you're taking medication, fibre can interfere with absorption — space doses apart.
What's actually in it
A fibre supplement in powder form. The key question is which fibres and how many grams per serving. Soluble and insoluble fibres do different jobs — soluble slows digestion and blunts blood-sugar response, insoluble adds bulk and moves things along. Look for grams per scoop and how they compare with the ~25–38g daily target.
What the research actually looks at
This is a strong evidence base, and unusually it's about food rather than a supplement industry claim. Higher fibre intake is repeatedly associated with better blood-sugar control, improved satiety, healthier cholesterol profiles, and better gut microbiome diversity. The caveat: most of that research is on fibre from whole foods, not powders. Supplementation helps close a gap; it doesn't replicate a vegetable.
How we'd use it
Start with half the label dose and build up over two weeks. Going straight to a full serving is how people end up bloated and abandoning it. Drink plenty of water — fibre without water is counterproductive and uncomfortable.
The honest trade-offs
- Gas and bloating are common in the first fortnight. Ramp slowly.
- It can block absorption of some medications. Leave a couple of hours either side.
- Powder is a poor substitute for vegetables, which bring things fibre supplements don't.
Bottom line
The least exciting product on this page and one of the most defensible. If you're drawn to the metabolic and appetite category, this is where the evidence actually is.
